Punit Shah is the Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Group, a Single-Family Office that serves as a purpose built platform focused on diversification and preservation of capital.
Under Punit’s leadership, Liberty Group has invested in over $1.2 billion in commercial real estate, including multi-family, office, student housing, and retail buildings, as well as licensed Starbucks cafes and 57 hotels representing more than 5,000 rooms primarily affiliated with Hilton and Marriott brands. Mr. Shah has also led Liberty Group in raising two fully discretionary real estate funds with $250 million in capital.
In 2017, Mr. Shah partnered with Derek Jeter and Principal Owner Bruce Sherman to acquire the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball team and is the first Indian American Owner of an MLB team.
Mr. Shah’s professional honors include receiving the Florida’s Governor’s Enterprise award, Tampa Business Journal Under 30 & Under 40 awards, Florida Business Review Under 40 and Entrepreneur of the Year awards, E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, having been named as 25 People to Watch in Florida by the Business Observer, alumni of Leadership Tampa and Leadership Florida, and serving on the Global Board of Directors of the Intercontinental Hotels Group Owner’s Association.
Mr. Shah is a member of Young President’s Organization (YPO) and Advisory Board member of the Boston University School of Hospitality, where he was honored as both the Alumni of the Year and Commencement Speaker for the graduating class of 2017.
